Nana Turmanidze

Career: Nana Turmanidze joined J&T Consulting in 2020 and currently serves as a Regional Partner, providing on-site legal services to the firm’s clients on matters vital to the smooth operation and development of their businesses. She has extensive experience advising local and foreign investors on corporate, commercial, and dispute-related matters.

In recognition of her professional excellence, Nana was named an Outstanding Member of the Team of J&T Consulting by The Legal 500 for the second time in 2024. Notably, she progressed within the firm from the position of Intern to Regional Partner, reflecting both her professional growth and long-term commitment to the firm.

Following the completion of her advanced legal education and professional experience in the United States, Nana returned to J&T Consulting, continuing her practice with an expanded international focus and strengthened expertise in arbitration and cross-border disputes.

Education & International Experience:  Nana graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with honors and, in 2023, successfully defended her Master’s thesis in Private Law at the same university. She is also a 2023 graduate of the Riga Graduate School of Law, having completed its intensive program in European Law and Economics.

In 2025, Nana earned an LL.M. in International Arbitration and Business Law from American University Washington College of Law (Washington, D.C., USA) as a Global Talent Scholarship recipient.

During her LL.M. studies, she gained significant international institutional experience. From May to August 2025, Nana served as an Intern at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in Washington, D.C., USA, where she worked on investor–state dispute settlement matters. From September to November 2025, she was selected as a Dean’s Fellow at the Center on International Commercial Arbitration, American University Washington College of Law (Washington, D.C., USA), contributing to academic and professional initiatives in international commercial arbitration.

Professional Memberships: Nana is a Member of Young ICCA, a Student Member of the American Bar Association (United States), and a Mediator at the Georgian Association of Mediators (Georgia).

Publications & Research: Nana has authored and co-authored multiple publications on contemporary legal issues. Her works include:

– Co-author, “Prohibition of Competition Under the New Edition of the Law on Entrepreneurs of Georgia”, published in 2022 in the N4 bilingual journal of the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University TSU Law Review,
– Author, Chapters II (Restrictive Agreements) and III (Abuse of Dominant Position) in the bilingual book “Legal and Economic Impact of Georgian Competition Law”, published in 2022.

Additionally, Nana served as an Assistant Researcher for the Commentary on the Georgian Labor Code, published in 2023 with the support of New Vision University and the International Labour Organization in Georgia.
